Would you date someone who you don't consider to be your equal?

It is NOT snobby to have standards for people you date and to want someone with the same drive level as you. It's like a bodybuilder and a morbidly obese person trying to be together. Oh, and there is nothing less attractive than a man who is always sloppy drunk. Don't waste your time on people that aren't a good fit for you. And I would like to stress again...this is NOT being snobby.
